Collaboration

Founding members of Global Climate Collaboration are actively engaged with several climate-concerned organizations. As the GCC initiative progresses, we will interface with many of these organizations, and others, to encourage their collaboration and to minimize the detrimental effects of biases in the decision-making process on climate solutions.

The Climate Solutions Community

Tom Rehm is a co-founder of this American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) group.  The Managing Board was approved in September 2021. The first TCSC Board Meeting was held on September 21, 2021. One of the TCSC objectives is to "develop a portfolio of technical and government policy solutions necessary to address both industrial and societal challenges related to climate change." On The Climate Solutions Community website, the Managing Board is shown as the Steering Committee. Eric Townsend, Marie LaPlante, and Christin Newell are also members.

The Future of Energy Initiative

Tom Rehm is an active member of FOEI. The primary objective of the FOEI: "We believe energy development should be a strategic process: start with the ultimate goal. Given what we know today, what are the viable options for powering the planet without fossil fuel? Once feasible choices are identified, we then work backwards to figure out how to realistically get there from where we are now. The currently popular approach of evolving forwards without a strategic plan runs the risk of expensive stranded technologies and dead end development.

Citizen's Climate Lobby

The Citizens’ Climate Lobby (CCL) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, grassroots advocacy climate change organization focused on national policies to address climate change. In the 117th Congress, CCL is working to achieve passage of H.R. 2307, "Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act of 2021."

Tom Rehm, Christin Newell, Bob Romero, and Eric Townsend are all members. Eric is the CCL liaison for the Illinois 3rd Congressional District. Christin is active on two CCL Action Teams: Strategic Planning and United Methodist. Tom is active on three CCL Action Teams:  Electricity, Oil, and Nuclear Energy.

Stable Climate Group

Dick Hutchinson is a co-founder of this group. The Stable Climate Group is working toward bringing stakeholders, decision-makers, policy-makers, and advocates together to carefully find a common and agreed path through the complex and interwoven technical, economic, political, personal, and ideological impediments to building a comfortable and stable climate.

Foundation for Climate Restoration

This foundation investigates and advocates for atmospheric reduction technologies, that is, carbon removal from the atmosphere. Eric Townsend is our liaison.

The Nature Conservancy

Bob Romero is our liaison.

CATF Nuclear Hydrogen Initiative

Tom Rehm is a member of the Market Working Group for this Clean Air Task Force initiative.

Climate Bonds Initiative

CBI is an international, investor-focused not-for-profit. Tom Rehm is a member of the CBI Basic Chemicals Technical Working Group. CBI is the only organization working solely on mobilizing the $100 trillion bond market for climate change solutions. CBI achieves this through the development of the Climate Bonds Standard and Certification Scheme, Policy Engagement and Market Intelligence work. We empower our Partner organizations with the tools and knowledge needed to navigate, influence, and instigate change.

American Standards and Testing Methods

Tom Rehm is a member of the ASTM Climate and Community Subcommittee, E50.07. This group focuses on standards that capture trends in developing industry goals, scientific advancements, and government regulations, creating shorter decision cycles for solutions and faster recognition of common problems.
